The Painted series explores the identity and meaning of home and place. Notions of self and other are explored. Ideas related to sanctuary and comfort remain inherent, but there is also instability and uncertainty.

As a person who doesn't own a home, I am interested in the desires I have to 'have' a home, and to 'inhabit' a home. I am also interested in how we use our environments as forms of physical and psychological escapism, expression and representation. Our lives exist and persist in these structures and places. Psychological projection of self and of emotion is created as we become familiarized with natural and man-made structures, and as we form new memories and experiences through them.
